Today, over thirty years later, General Hydroponics is a leading innovator in the field of hydroponics with factories in North America and Europe. Their products are used by NASA in preparation for hydroponics on the International Space Station. Numerous laboratories and universities throughout the world use our products for teaching and research; other clients use their products for commercial crop production as well as high-tech gardening.
Their facility is located in Sebastopol, California. General Hydroponics has over ten acres for testing new crops, hydroponic systems, nutrients and related technologies. Their factory consists of 45,000 square feet (5,000 square meters) of modern industrial space.
With these facilities General Hydroponics is developing new hydroponic systems and perfecting nutrient formulas to enhance flavor and yield plus vitamin and mineral content in food crops for higher nutritional value. Their farm division is testing many varieties of vegetables for growth rate, yield, flavor, nutrition, appearance, shelf life and hydroponic viability. General Hydroponics is able to recommend a wide variety of gourmet fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and ornamentals for hydroponic cultivation. General Hydroponics is testing a variety of different hydroponic techniques plus traditional "organic" methods in soil to determine the best ways to grow top-quality crops.
General Hydroponics has never lost sight of their goal, to push the edge in hydroponic technology. Their first objective is to be the best, to produce the best and to lead in technology, quality and innovation.
